Reed is Ricki’s number one fan and the way Ricki looks at Reed is the stuff of movies, except this, this is real life.
I loved photographing their wedding celebration and as you’ll see in these photos, they all had a blast too. Big thanks to you both for being so kind and for allowing me to be the one to document it all.
This is what the bride had to say about how they got engaged:
Just down the street from our West Village apartment is Grove Court – an 1850s-era gated courtyard. We pass it regularly, peak inside, and daydream about living in one of the courtyard’s townhouses. Reed was determined to propose here. He wrote a letter to each resident of the Court, asking for their help in planning. Our new friend Alice took the bait. “Outrageous!” she called Reed. Reed spent three months coordinating with Alice, our families, and friends to pull off the best surprise.
On March 13, as we do every Saturday morning, we got out to take our compost to Abingdon Farmer’s Market. On our way, Reed opened the gate to Grove Court. Ricki thought they would get in trouble for going inside – they’d never been in before – but then Reed pulls out the ring box. We were laughing and crying and hugging, so much so that Reed forgot to ask THE question!
