“In the summer of 2017, Andrew and Sylvia met in the most romantic setting imaginable: a Masters of Education applied linguistics course in Dallas, Texas. Andrew was immediately struck by Sylvia’s brilliant brain and beauty, listening with rapt attention to every contribution she made to class discussions. When Sylvia gave an impromptu presentation on a homework assignment, Andrew officially moved from interested to smitten. Being a self-assured and confident adult, he naturally asked his friend to tell Sylvia he liked her and see how she responded. Sylvia just laughed and said, “That’s interesting.” Andrew decided to go for it. The first date was incredible: an evening of Italian food, a parking lot first kiss, and goofy dancing in Knox-Henderson. But both Andrew and Sylvia left Dallas right after this first date for trips abroad. Absence makes the heart yadda yadda yadda so when the two returned, they found they were both captivated. On his birthday, Sylvia asked Andrew to be her boyfriend.”
