I once heard a proposal has three stages: shock, confusion, happiness. Many of the couples I work with can agree that when they are being proposed to, and they are genuinely surprised, it feels like you’re out of your body. What is happening? Is this really happening? OMG this IS happening! This is Caro and Sergio’s proposal story:?

“I planned a trip to Hawaii for my birthday last year in early February. I planned the whole thing, the hotel, dinner reservations, etc. Sergio found this jewelry designer in San Francisco who designed the ring with him, and he brought it on the trip to Hawaii. He asked me one night while we were getting ready to go to dinner. I was super, super surprised! I didn’t expect it at all – I don’t even remember anything he said!!”?
