I met Nina a few years ago, before the pandemic, when we had the opportunity to work together on a different set of portraits. Some years later things changed a lot and she reached out to tell me she was engaged and wanted me to be her photographer. Beyond excited, I immediately said yes. A couple of weeks ago I had the honor of traveling to her new home in Minneapolis, to photograph the most lovely, intimate ceremony and reception dinner with her and her new husband’s closest people.
When I asked Nina about their first date, she said: “…it was kind of love at first sight! We spent almost the whole weekend together, talking a lot, playing music together, and cooking together, and both of us walked away into Monday thinking “woah, this is different. This…..feels like the stars.” He had already deleted his Hinge profile by Sunday night, and of course, when I realized, I got butterflies in my stomach and did the same — confirmation that the feeling was mutual and that we were both as invested as we hoped the other would be. It was my first date off the app, and that was it. Game over.”
I hadn’t met Michael before this weekend and seeing their connection made me understand why Nina is so head over heels about the life they’ve built together. This is only a preview of their day, more is soon to come to Instagram, so give us a follow if you’d like to see more. Nina– I can’t believe the day finally came and went, but I’m so happy these photos exist as proof of the most perfect day ever! Congrats you two!
