        Vizcaya Weddings

Previously known as Villa Vizcaya, this is the former villa and estate of businessman James Deering, on Biscayne Bay in the present day Coconut Grove neighborhood of Miami, Florida. The early 20th century Vizcaya estate also includes extensive Italian Renaissance gardens; native woodland landscape; and a historic village outbuildings compound. The landscape and architecture were influenced by Veneto and Tuscan Italian Renaissance models and designed in the Mediterranean Revival architecture style, with Baroque elements. Paul Chalfin was the design director.

This is one of our favorite venues in Miami for weddings and portrait sessions. Most importantly, this venue has everything you could possibly want, with beautiful views of the water, gorgeous gardens and architecture that is to-die-for. This location is on the U.S National Register of Historic Places and is a U.S. National Historic Landmark. Also featured in several movies including Tony Rome, Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, Bad Boys II, Airport ’77, The Money Pit, and Iron Man 3.

As you can see, the possibilities are endless, as it has different settings to choose from. Some people decide to get married in the upper garden area and have their reception or cocktail hour overlooking the water. This venue can accommodate several hundred guests and it will surely never disappoint.

        According to miamiandbeaches.com:

Vizcaya has always been a cultural hub. Deering chose the Grove as the site of his winter retreat to preserve the natural habitat for future generations. After Deering’s passing, surviving family donated much of the property to the county, leading to its renaming as Vizcaya Museum & Gardens. The Discover Vizcaya audio tour is an educational way to learn about this location’s history and native vegetation. Or see the mystical gardens in a different light on the Moonlight Garden Tours.

From Popes to pop stars, Vizcaya Museum & Gardens has played host to countless celebrities and dignitaries. It’s still one of the most sought-after locations for photo shoots, weddings and coming-of-age celebrations.

We’ve been really fortunate to photograph this location a few times. You can see Caro and Nacho’s wedding below- our most recent event held at the beautiful Vizcaya Museum and Gardens.
